Maybe I'll park myself inbetween and think about giving each a try.

I think that is a wise idea. You've narrowed in on my two favorite areas and my two favorite ops!

Once you decide how you're going to schedule your dives, let me know and I'll recommend some hotels in either Jupiter, Boynton, or if you go with the central idea, West Palm Beach.

I'd be very interested in you hotel recommendations. There appears to be many reasonable choices in Jupiter but a lesser number in the Boynton area.

Thanks, and good diving, Craig

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (pet friendly, I had my dog with me) in Jupiter last December and dove with JDC. It was fabulous and the best part was the Jupiter Fish House in the parkiing lot of the Holiday Inn Express. I really enjoyed the food and the martini's there. JDC was a great dive op. I would go there again in a heartbeat. Loved the Goliath Groupers.

I live in the Jupiter area so get out with JDC more than any other shop.... I love the Juno reefs and big fish along with the fact that JDC is top notch. Boyton offers a different experience in that the current is gentler, the dives are a bit shallower (more down time) and the reef itself is very colorful and beautiful with tons of tropical fish, so I'd encourage you to try both locations given they are less that 45 minutes apart. The only negative about a single diver in Boynton is that most operators don't send a DM down (I don't know if UWE does or does not), so you'll be buddied up with someone that may or may not be a good match.

Parking yourself in between would be WPB. On Singer Island in WPB I like to stay at the Sea Spray hotel that is right on the beach. The roof top restaurant has some excellent lounge singers and there is a big deck pool along with an underground parking garage. Rates were running $99 weekdays and $109 weekends.

For Jupiter, I like to stay at the Jupiter Waterfront Inn. Very nice inland waterway hotel with internet, great pool and just 2 miles from JDC. Rates also are running $99 weekdays or $109 weekends. If you brought your own boat, you can tie it up to their pier.

Click on the hotel names above for embedded websites to each. Be careful where you stay in WPB and Riveria Beach since some of it is not so nice. I'd also echo Chuckitall's comments above about the Goliath's since that alone is worth the trip. Sorry but I have no hotels for you in Boynton. Hope this helps.

Thankfully, this isn't an issue when diving with Underwater Explorers. I've done numerous dives with Kev and company and never brought along a dive buddy (except once). Most often, everyone has stuck together more or less as UE is a six-pack.

As for accommodation, if you're travelling solo and on a budget like me most of the times, you can check out The Homing Inn in Boynton. It's very basic and does not cater to the tuxedo crowd but I've found it to be safe and the management is fair. Plus it's about a 5 minute drive from the marina.

Uh, hotels in Boynton...
Krista, you are most definately one of those people who see that half-empty glass of water as half-full.
