Don't miss out on this event, because it is a truely great get together.
My previous post really wasn't put out there
to cause ANYONE not to come.
It was just a reminder thing so that people understand
that this is a free, non paid event.
Things just go alot smoother when a larger group
of people attack whatever tasks are at hand.
It is understood, that some people have legitimate issues
that prevent them from arriving early and/or staying late.
So that being said, please don't avoid the event
based on my previous posting.
It wasn't aimed at anyone.
If it seemed blunt,I'm sorry.
You didn't offend me, I just want to make sure to do my part. On that note, I do plan to bringing my zodiac unless there is a lot of wind but as I mentioned I'm not sure how long I'll be there so I don't want to leave anyone hanging. Also, (just thinking out loud) even with a zodiac or a kayak anchored out at the boneyard I wonder if that is enough from a safety standpoint? If someone had a problem there would still be a lag in time before anyone knew about it even if they had something to hold onto. Do we know how many people will actually be diving? If it is only like 1/3 of the people coming we could ask Jamie to make make scheduled runs out to the boneyard for like 45 minutes at a time but just stay on site with his boat. That is enough time to find some teeth but short enough where everybody would get to dive that wanted to. We could even have a sign up sheet to make sure everyone gets a turn. There could be blocks of time in between dives for Jamie to join us on the beach and enjoy some grub. It might not be the funnest plan for Jamie but I know personally I am not opposed to kicking in some funds for the trouble and maybe having a tip jar there or something. Everybody could just give what they are comfortable with. With the price of fuel it would be nice to at least have Jamie cover his costs and if he makes a profit then good for him. If it works out that I can bring the zodiac I can keep it at alhambra to dive out of there and if anyone wants a lift out a little farther than what the shore divers usually cover I can do that and they can just run a course back towards the beach. Just some random thoughts.
