Rain or Shine: Count me in!

Sounds like the weather will be pretty nice this weekend.

Now, I hate to bring it up, but we need to address it at some point: who is planning on diving on Saturday? I'm assuming that the flood control channels will be pumping nasty brown water for weeks to come. And typically with these kinds of rain storms we get at least one big sewage spill, though I haven't heard of one yet (only one in San Diego).

If it was only 5ft. vis but clean I'd be all over it, but on this one I think I'll defer to the experts. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hey, anyone wanna head over to Catalina on Sunday and dive the Casino?

I will bring my dive gear out, BUT, I won't know until I see it, if I will dive. I know it's going to be bad, but after the tsunimi divers in San Deigo last month......I don't want to be too much of a wussie.

My wife and I will probably be diving Casino Point on Sunday (have plans on Saturday, otherwise would have done the cleanup). Although there will be a fair amount of divers there this weekend, Catalina Divers Supply says there should be enough rental tanks on Sunday without needing reservations. And Catalina Express has tickets available that day. First ferry out of San Pedro is 8:50 and last back is 6:45 (although we'd probably take the 4:45 back - still enough to get in three dives).

Let me know if you decide to go. It'd be nice to meet someone from the board.

So, at what point do we cancel this event??? Even La Jolla Shores is brown with run-off????

I am not going to the Wrinkles Dive since the runoff is so bad. LA got 7 inches of rain in 6 days... The ocean is very polluted... Someone else will have to get the banannas for me... If you go I hope you have a great time! See you next dive!

And it's still raining.........I am cancelling too. Maybe we should move the hole Wrinkles rotation forward one month. This is a good spot, that is centrally located and I would hate to miss it.

Geesh, just can't get those San Diego guys to make the trip north...

Anyway, it looks like it will be a relatively nice beach day on Saturday, so even though there probably won't be any diving it will be fun to have the get together.

I'm thinking that the best might be to have the Wrinkles on Saturday, then a group of us head over to Catalina on Sunday to do some diving. Anyone?

Jim, I want to do that dive, but I've done a series of mud dives lately and it sucks.......I will have to get my regs serviced after this dive.

Jim, do you like diving with Poopies now? It just seems the most prudent thing to do at this juncture... I'm diving Sunday at Los Coronados... You and anyone else is welcome to come with... http://www.gottadive.com 9 spots left...
