Apparently, I have offended a good friend. What was meant as mere fun has back fired and has hurt instead. There is no amount of mirth that could ever justify hurting a single soul. Consequently, I have removed the offending post, and offer my sincere apologies to any and all that might have read it.

Uncle Pug, I have a private note that I would like to send you when you empty your mail box some. There are certain things that should be said only in private. Please PM me when you have done that. I am mortified that I have hurt you in any way. Please find it in your heart to forgive me in this.

Some use words to injure and maim... I would rather use them for edification and healing. Some maintain it is their right to say what they will, I would rather have the will to say what is right. While I may disagree with many of you, I sincerely hope that my words do not come across as demeaning or condescending. Not being a perfect man, I know that they have and will. And being a pragmatist I know that they will also be used against me.

Why is everyone so worried about the bungees causing an uncontrolled descent? With a completly empty BC/Wing, you should be able to swim your equipment up from the bottom anyway. So, it seems to me that that arguement is null and void. Basically you are saying it could cause a problem, that with proper weighting, should never become a problem to begin with.

*note I am not a bungee wing diver, just having some fun*

This is truely frightening!!!

:sharky: I just bought an OMS back plate and harness with dubble 100 wings. I guess I was lucky because I had an exsperienced tech diver to show me how to put the thing together. There is a right way and a wrong way to put the bands on. They have to be tied with a square not, if not the will come untied, also oraly inflate the wings when you get done because if you cant do it out of the water you cant do it under the water. I would hate to test it for the first time under water to only find out that I had srewed it up and it did'nt work. If you put the bands on to tight you wont be able to inflate them under and conditions. As far as them snaging on things more, if you have been diving for any length of time at all with any setup you have goten hung up or snaged on something. I do a lot of black water and deep diving it's just part of it.

My wife could "put together" my Halcyon wing, and she's not a diver.

I think all your bungee users are making a much better arguments against bungees than I ever could, if, and I keep saying this, you'd only step back and actually read what you're writing.

roguediver,

If you haven't got it wet yet quickly take it back and get all of your money back. If you don't do it now you will lose a bunch of money when you finally realize that you need to e-bay it.

I have some info on the recovery of Charlie McGurr.
>
> He was using Bondage wings
> He was found feet down on the deck
> He had all steel tanks
> He also had 28 lbs of lead
> He was left by his team after he signaled he was going up
> The recovery team could not lift him with the bondage wings he has
> wearing.

Not that some other rules weren't broken here, namely weight and buddy diving, but still...
