Is there, by chance, some sort of primer on BP/Ws here on the site? I'm getting information overload, and an acronym aneurism.

Is there, by chance, some sort of primer on BP/Ws here on the site? I'm getting information overload, and an acronym aneurism.

for this site the primer is call @cool_hardware52 with the following information
tanks you dive
rig you currently dive
exposure suits you will be diving
amount of ballast you have used in the environments you usually dive.

buy whatever he thinks will be best. Costs around $500, but is money well spend. Since you're obviously a fan of 1911's, you get extra kudo points from me, and likely from Tobin as well. Probably not worth anything real, but maybe a good side conversation at some point

what acronyms do you need clarification on?

Tobin, thanks for sharing information and posting pictures of your bladder and shell side by side.

My previous post was to point out that some mfr.'s use 1 bladder for 2 different size wings. While a bladder needs to be bigger than the shell, it is not a requirement to use the same bladder in both a 35 lb wing and a 25 lb wing.

For a chance of a productive call, you should figure out the actual buoyancy of your exposure suit(s) before you call. If you DO decide to ante up the big bucks (though certainly not H level big bucks) for a DSS rig, I fully expect you'd be quite happy with it. Some of the fine points of the designs are not my cup of tea, but the gear is excellent quality. I had a complete DSS rig. I still have the back plate. But, I'm cheap and I now have additional rigs that were a lot less expensive and that I am JUST as happy (or more) with.

I will say you can't beat that Hog32 wing for $150...

Except maybe with the Hog 23, also for $150... :D I love my Hog 23 wing. The only time I would need more lift is if the water is cold. In which case, I'm diving dry and using doubles.

Both, GREAT deals!!!
