Back in the day , there was a dive shop close to my house where I grew up called West Coast Divers . Pot shops on every corner but no more dive stores , but lets get back to the story about the guy who would make a 250 foot deep beach dive on air at Zuma Beach into Dume Submarine Canyon that ran close to shore . He asked me to buddy up and showed me a stack of his certification cards NSS - CDS , IANDI , TDI and PSAI all Florida cave stuff . Back in the early 90,s there was not to much tec stuff happening on the West Coast and was a self taught kind of a guy so graciously declined and did not want to die with three children and a wife . He smoked cigars which I like and worked being a LAX Traffic Controller . Diving Osborn Banks and the Matterhorn Pinnacle was some of his dives and wonder if he is still alive today. God Bless and be safe. Rumdumb
