I'm not now sure I'm going. It looks like the weather is going to suck..

You are going to get wet in the water anyway.... don't think you are so sweet that you are going to melt.

Anyway I am planning on heading up Sat AM with some former students of mine so they can try out their new drysuits.

Can't wait to put some faces with some screen names.

Yeah, DMP - why???? I've been wondering the same thing. I can see switching to a wet suit once the air and water have warmed up. But, in 40deg water?????

I am used to it, do you think I had a dry all the time? Honestly, OW season is coming and I just want to see if it is too chilly to put students in the water in full wet suits. Plus I do not want to be considered a WWW, not my type of crowd.

I only went to dry after my first half-season of diving. I haven't used a wetsuit up here since. Our instructors and dive-cons all use drysuits as we tend to be in the water longer than the students and it is easier to respond to a problem if we aren't thinking about how cold we are. If I had been able to go this weekend, I would have been diving dry.

WWW? Call me what you want to. You don't impress the cold by acting like you are not cold! I also seem to remember another Army saying that goes something like: "You don't need practice to be uncomfortable."

Ditto, other than I dove the Great Lakes wet for 8 years before going dry. Chalk it up to me being fresh out of school and buying my gear piecemeal as I could afford to pay cash. With other priorities such as warm water trips taking priority.

If you have a dry suit, why dive wet in cold water / weather?

That I will not be attending this weekend. The weather doesnt look good and I need to get some things done around here since this weeks weather has kept me from doing that.

it ain't sea water there... :)

DMP:
I am getting wet whether the weather agrees with me or not.....Going through withdrawls, this time will be all wet suit, yup no dry suit diving for me this time.
The deepest depth there is 75fsw, water temps from the guys diving there last weekend was mid 40's, visibility 40' or better. So far only one group took one class of OW students out there. You can see the crusher from the wall, pretty awesome sight from a photo they took. BTW checking the site out the price is $8.00 per day, unfortunately the facilities are delayed from completion due to the weather, projected completion is around July. If you want hot showers go to a hotel, camp at Eagle Lake or, heat up your baby wipes (not really a shower but works).

Will be up to the rest of you if you want to do a night dive, I'm game for it.

You gotta live hard to be hard...... Not calling you a WWW, trust me I will be shivering to beat the band I think. We dive with what the students dive, only fare wouldn't you agree (then again there are enough of us to tag team classes). Made a mistake on FSW, your right (Randy) it's not salt water, had a brain fart there was looking at marine life while posting....so much for multi-tasking LOL.

You know more about diving than I do, but it's still fun to rip on you.
