We are a Mares dealer, and we service them. The issue is not so much availability of shops, as the somewhat inconsistent availability of parts to the shops. The regs are very good, so no problem there. I have just become disenchanted with Mares because of parts availability.I have Mares service shops everywhere around here. I can also get two Abyss MR22's for less than $600 brand new for both of them and from what everyone tells me, they are rock solid as well.
There are a few threads on SB, and elsewhere, about IP creep with Apeks regs, usually occurring near the end the the usual service cycle. I developed this in one of my ATX200s at 2.5 years, and serviced it without residual problem. It is not a 'failure' issue, but may lead to very slight second stage freeflow. I also have two AT20s. Never had a problem with them, except for cold water freeflow with one of the 20s, which is not intended for cold water use anyway.I heard about intermediate pressure problems with Apeks. Is that with all their regs???
