One can never have too many regulators....

think of the possibilities;
  • single tank - wet suit (couple sets)
  • single tank - dry suit
  • single tank travel (warm/salt)
  • doubles - wet suit
  • doubles - dry suit (couple sets)
  • family singles cold water regs (multiple sets)
  • family warm water/travel regs (multiple sets)
  • then the whole double hose thing....
  • then the whole vintage single hose thing.....
It is an illness.....
Deco sets... 100% O2 set...

I am now cursing at myself for not taking all your responses as a warning. I've since acquired 4 sets of regs, for which I've assembled 4 complete BP/W setups (alum, steel, for singles, doubles).

It indeed is a sickness and......hold on, what's that in the corner of a room? Oh, a spare reg all by its lonesome. Brb, need to put together another rig now.

It happens pretty fast. I think most of us have a small dive shop.

Or you could just never dive singles.. it's too much to remember and I'm too lazy. I'll dive doubles in 15'. It's been years since I tried to dive a single tank.

Another good reason (financial self-justification) to have separate sets is that you can use the single regulator recreational setup as spare parts particularly on trips.

This is the best reason. I hardly ever mess with leaky regs at the dive site, I'll just swap another one in and mess with it later.

quitter... :poke:

I have a dedicated set for doubles and a dedicated recreational reg. However, some of my deco/stage regs are the same as my back gas regs (three, I think, at last count). If I have a problem at a dive site I can plug and play to fix the problem because they are set up identically and then dive a backup deco/stage reg.
