I updated the OP - I suppose I should of mentioned I don't dive backmount. These replies are great. It's interesting to note that adding a weight to somewhere on the tank would make the fabers a little better - I may look into that.

I was kidding about gluing a 1lb weight to the bottom of a Faber.

Let's see . . . :hm:

You won't buy used, you cannot find new . . . Guess you are SOL if you won't go used.

ok, let's think real quick.

EVEN IF the Fabers were +2.32 with a valve, which they aren't, but even if they were, the first stage alone weighs 1.5lbs, and 0.7lbs of air is just under 300psi. This is not including the weight of the SPG's, which if brass/glass weigh something, and the second stage which is usually about 0.5lb but is in your mouth so doesn't count, or the hardware on the tank, so you're good as long as you aren't sucking them totally dry.

Now, since most valves weigh somewhere between 2 and 2.5lbs, that tank is neutral when it is empty empty with no first stage on it, so you are good to go.

Ok - you guys win. I've been convinced. The fabers may be the right option for me, given the information you have provided me in this thread. I had forgotten that my SPG's are 2.5in and are VERY heavy. Maybe it'll work out. I'll make it work - I like the lp85 profile way to much to want anything else. Thanks!
