Green, why can't you simply be civilized and say, "Sorry, Frank. I disagree with your point of view."? What's so hard about that? Whatever... You're a responsible alcohol user. So what. How is that different? Certainly, you would be condemned for having a glass of scotch, according to several sects of Christianity. Your sense of morality may not be the same as someone else's, and the best we can do is agree to disagree. There's no need to beat the crap out of people with your self-righteousness. *shrug* Just because something is legal or illegal, generally has no bearing on whether something is right or wrong. That's just lazy. The real question of whether something is right or wrong, can only be answered in one's own heart. I don't partake of weed, but I don't agree with it being illegal either, and I wouldn't (and don't) condemn the friends of mine who use it.

Frankly, people who are self-proclaimed "responsible drinkers" who drink for the taste, not the buzz, scare me more than the winos in the Bowery, but not more than some coke head. Unless said responsible drinker gets behind the wheel

I am civilized.

Alchohol is legal. Dope is not.

If we all decide what is right/wrong in our own heart the end result is chaos.

Later.

I'll bet I scare you whether or not I am responsible :D

Thank you for doing your level best to absolutely misunderstand, misconstrue, exaggerate, and be completely over the top, GM. I am suddenly reminded of why I quit visiting the Whine & Cheeze forum, and especially, quit entering into discussions with you. There are certainly other people more willing to engage in intelligent discourse. Take care.

The author of this thread created this thread to discuss the current social/legal aspects of the consumption of alcohol and driving.

This, in itself, is a very volatile topic. The positions and emotions of this issue can be very strong.

Let's not add additional fuel to this topic by including the use of illegal drugs.

Please, limit the discussion in this thread to the author's premise, unless the author indicates that he would be acceptable to the inclusion of other substances and/or drugs.

Thank you.

Not to mention the sober soccer moms talking on their cell phones and the self professed college educated with their custom plates that try to run me off the road every darn morning going to work! Where is the outrage, where in the heck to these supposedly educated people learn to drive???

It shouldn't be called a morning traffic report, it should be called the "Idiot Report."

Once again, let's keep this thread on the topic of alcohol and driving, unless Otter indicates otherwise.

On a positive note, I think drunk driving fatalites are way down, aren't they? well, somewhat the state by state sort of surprised me. New Hampshire has a little problem.
