Hi gang,

Looking for some advice... we've decided on the FL Keys as our next warm-water scuba trip, but we're waffling between going in mid-May or mid-September. I've read some conflicting stuff about weather on the boards, and was wondering if I could just get a quick vote from folks who dive down there regularly:

May or September?

Thanks!

Mid Sept...is peak hurricane season, however if there are no storms nearby conditions can be really good

weather-wise. Mid-September generally offers warmer water temps, along with associated tropical weather. Mid-May offers all the wonders of Springtime, with typically brisker water temps, and fabulous conditions shoreside.

Either way... the diving here is awesome. Enjoy!

I can only speak for this year. The water temps were 79-81 in May and 82 all month in Sept. As for the overall conditions while there was some excellant days in late Sept. the earlier part of the month was very rough. All in all the month of May was better this year than Sept.

Anytime is the right time ..........Have gear will travel the water is always nice it just depends on the weather and our weather Person Jackie Johnson cant perdict that yet
