More so if the equipment was stored in the attic.Christi:Yeh, and just for the recod to those who really don't know this...equipment sitting in a closet for five years is MORE likely to need service! Everything is dried up, o-rings and hoses probably need replaced, reg needs to be cleaned, checked and adjusted, etc.

ntt:no. but if i didnt know you and we were going for a dive. i know personaly along with everything else, i would like to know where you got certified and how long youve been diving, not just the number of dives! Where youd been, and such. Like I said, you gotta look at everything and not just one thing!
what if we go on, you should base it off of your own decisions and what you feel comfortable with you and your buddy!
Doesnt mean if you are expierenced in your eyes that you are to everyone. Others could have a different view on the idea.
I know I will make sure I trust my buddy if were both new (to eachother). If I dont feel comfortable with them, Ill try not to be rude, but I wont dive or I will scrap the dive!

Diver Dennis:My measure of someone you're diving with is to see them in the water, especially with "experienced" divers. If they tell you that they are new then you know what to expect but other than that the yadda yadda yadda doesn't mean much, to me at least.
I,being a Florida diver don't have this as an option.MoonWrasse:More so if the equipment was stored in the attic.
Best place IMO to store stuff is in the basement - an environment with a cool, constant temperature.
Immediately after the conclusion of any dive. The diver is experienced in any and all aspects of that dive and it's particular circumstances.mudchick:This is sort of open ended and I imaging there will be different responses, but what is it that makes a diver experienced? Is it purely the number of dives? Can you say you're experienced if you haven't anything go wrong (free flow or other mechanical problem)? Is it based on how many different places you've been? A combination of the above; none?
