Yeh, and just for the recod to those who really don't know this...equipment sitting in a closet for five years is MORE likely to need service! Everything is dried up, o-rings and hoses probably need replaced, reg needs to be cleaned, checked and adjusted, etc.
More so if the equipment was stored in the attic.
Best place IMO to store stuff is in the basement - an environment with a cool, constant temperature.

i think it means f'in dumb _ss

no. but if i didnt know you and we were going for a dive. i know personaly along with everything else, i would like to know where you got certified and how long youve been diving, not just the number of dives! Where youd been, and such. Like I said, you gotta look at everything and not just one thing!

what if we go on, you should base it off of your own decisions and what you feel comfortable with you and your buddy!

Doesnt mean if you are expierenced in your eyes that you are to everyone. Others could have a different view on the idea.

I know I will make sure I trust my buddy if were both new (to eachother). If I dont feel comfortable with them, Ill try not to be rude, but I wont dive or I will scrap the dive!

(edited and added some more!)

My measure of someone you're diving with is to see them in the water, especially with "experienced" divers. If they tell you that they are new then you know what to expect but other than that the yadda yadda yadda doesn't mean much, to me at least.

Sorry. You said it better. Thats what I was trying to get at. Sorry if I came across wrong!

I guess Ill admit right now. I can do that sometimes, I can come across wrong when I type. Ill work on that! Apologies!

I,being a Florida diver don't have this as an option.
So,when my gear is not being used,It stays in my Scuba/Guitar room.
This room is air conditioned and heated space and seems to work out pretty well.

This is sort of open ended and I imaging there will be different responses, but what is it that makes a diver experienced? Is it purely the number of dives? Can you say you're experienced if you haven't anything go wrong (free flow or other mechanical problem)? Is it based on how many different places you've been? A combination of the above; none?
Immediately after the conclusion of any dive. The diver is experienced in any and all aspects of that dive and it's particular circumstances.
Although, this does not mean that He/She has gained the knowledge to properly handle any such event in a manner that would insure survival for an issue that may occur in the future.
