That's why I want my "castle." Someplace secure from the destructive forces of nature. As it is, when we get the new place, I plan to have a generator, and plenty of room for evacuees if you need a place to stay.
 
Six of the people on my road have tiles in stacks on their roofs from last year. Three more are waiting for tiles to be stacked on their roofs. I just got my 6th flat tire since Charley. My kids just got back into their schools (portables on the old property, anyway - they still have yet to bulldoze them and rebuild).

Is the last season over yet?
 
Hmm -- looking at sunny and 70 this weekend near Alexandria Bay, no hurricanes :)

I wonder how many people know this trick?
Its a lot less expensive than a big gennie ($25-30), has a much larger fuel tank, can run at least a bit of entertainment, lighting and a fan, and doesnt make half the noise of the other larger gennie's.
