I suggest you keep your comments to yourself if you lack the knowledge to improve the current situation. This is also your first and final warning on the matter.
I am pretty sure that the vast majority of SB members "lack the knowledge to improve the current situation".
That does not mean we are not all getting frustrated, concerned, and willing to toss our $0.02 into the discussion.
We, mostly, are divers, and not Tech Support specialists.
We will comment, we will question, we will tease, and yet many of us will continue to support SB, until we decide it is no longer in our interests to do so.
I assume that there are some major issues going on, that most of us are not privy to, but dissing members for their questions and comments is not going to help.

There is. We might be going down from time to time as we stop/start servers as we do some needed updates. However, part of our frustration is with our data center having an issue. We have no control over that.

That would be incorrect. There are plenty of XF boards much larger and busier that run just fine on MySQL. The Chairman says hosting issues and that seems very likely

Fwiw, the site has gotten a lot slower for me the last 24 hours or so, presumably since the latest issues were worked around. I’m hoping this is a temporary situation due to running on a secondary database server or something for the time being. :)

Same for all of us, but it is running nonetheless.

We have some db issues combined with an issue with our data center. We'll be updating the db server as well as a site update this weekend. We have no control over the data center issues, which takes the longest time.

Why not host your site elsewhere then?

The datacenter is upgrading the hosting software to fix some bugs that our server is affected by as well. There will be downtime tomorrow evening (March 20 23:00CET till March 21 01:00CET) to upgrade the vcenter platform.

Of course there is always a better way, better hosting, faster response. If you can contribute to that, contact the board. Knowledge required: centos, php, php-fpm, mysql, elastic search, postfix and apache.

Don't people have another life so they can do without Scubaboard for a little bit while it gets upgraded? LOL
Ah, yea...sure...um...I'm sure that I've got...ah...something else...um...I could do.
