Hi, I bought a used tank with valve. Get it home, yoke regulator does not fit (too short). The yoke insert was screwed in but a burr on the insert threads stopped it from seating all the way. I tried another insert and it screwed way down into the valve. The valve opening is another 3/16" deeper than normal. A DIN regulator screws on and seats okay. It's a Thermo valve rated 3000psi. Pictures included. Thanks for any info!

is there a yoke dimple in the back? if not, you have a 300 bar din valve with a 3000 psi sticker for some reason

you will need to replace it to use with a yoke reg, but at least the tank looks to be a 3/4 NPS neck so a convertible pro valve is easy to source

That is a 300 bar DIN valve. You are likely used to a 200 bar DIN valve.
That one is not compatible with an insert or yoke regulator.

What's the service pressure on the tank?

If 3442 or below (likely since valve is set up for a 3000 psi tank), get a 200 BAR DIN valve that can take an insert and work with a yoke reg. Tank neck appears to be 3/4" which takes a 200 BAR valve but hard to say just from the photo.

If the tank is 3500 psi (skinnier neck threads), you are commited to using DIN and will need to covert your reg to DIN or buy a DIN reg to use this tank.

Runsongas, sure enough, no dimple on back and this is my first 300bar valve!

Tracy, thanks for confirmation.

Still Kicking, it is a skinny Luxfer AL40. I have a DIN valve I can use on it.

Thanks all!

That extra couple of threads is just too much screwing around

Why would an AL40 ever have a 300 bar valve…?

That looks like a DIN valve, and it says rated to 3000 psi.
I don't see anything that hints that would be 300 bar, why do you think so?
