Our long time customers know we have done this before, but not for a long while.... We have dropped the price on surplus first quality Thermo Pro standalone valves to TWO Valves for $50, or essentially 56% off. We'll include the inserts so perfect for both Yoke and DIN regulators. Boats and rental fleets, now is the time!

This version of the Thermo Standalone Valve has a 5000 psi burst disk suitable for use with cylinders up to 3000 psi service pressure. These are unboxed standard valves, Nitrox Ready and still sealed in the factory plastic bag, which are supplied to us with our aluminum scuba cylinders. Our customers sometimes ask us to substitute modular specialty valves on their cylinder orders, leaving us with these unused valves as surplus. Quantities are limited.

Fabulous deal. Why only 3000 psi? Can they not be used in HP tanks (3442 psi)?
Thanks.

That should only be limited to the burst disk...

@DiveGearExpress do these have the 5000 or 5250 burst disks? If 5000, can they support the additional pressure of a 3442 tank?

Not @DGX, but I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

They can - the only difference in the pressure rating of the valves is the burst disk.

If you switch out the burst disk assembly for a 5,250# rated disk. 3/8" socket on a torque wrench @100 *INCH* pounds, if you want to stay true to spec. As BG said, DGX sells them and they'll even ship them with the valves if you buy them in the same order!

However, if you put 3,442 gas behind them, it's just a more conservative burst disk that will blow at 5,000# pressure rather than where it should at 5,250#.

I’d rather hear why DGX manifold prices doubled from $99 to $199.

The valves for $50 were bundled with the aluminum cylinders we buy, but were not used. The cylinders are 3000 psi service, so are the valves. They can't be used on higher pressure cylinders.
What makes them limited to 3000 psi other than the sticker or burst disk? Are they actually made differently or from differ components compared to the “3440” valves?
