The SubGear Mesh BackPack by Scubapro is very nice for around $30.

Swim outlet has tons of great mesh bags. Not specific for diving but some are as long as 30" and would work well.

There are lots of bags for less than $50 just as there are regulators less than $170. Scubapro sells a titanium regulator for around $1600 and makes no apologies for the price. Buy it or don't.

It's not about cheap, it's about value. I can buy a Hanes tee shirt for $8 or I can buy a LULULEMON tee shirt for $65.

One isn't right because it's inexpensive or wrong because it is expensive. It's about getting what you want for what you are willing to pay. That's value.
