Dive computers... bought one, then booked a liveaboard, so got an identical one for backup. Got an air integrated hose one, so got a watch style with transmitter as primary for next trip... been sitting on it since 2019 due to pandemic... so at the moment, four dive computers...

Wait, I don't understand. You can have "too many" of a particular type of dive gear? Does not compute. :)

We are a strange lot, indeed.

I find it funny - five out of eight items listed are completely not required for diving (and some, IMNSHO, should be forbidden)P. The one thing that is absolutely required, tanks, is omitted. And they're the coolest thing to collect.

The only stuff I have more than the minimum of would probably be masks & snorkels. That's because I have found some over the years and am too cheap a Scotsman to buy extra stuff...

And I find out I'm in the wrong crowd, I don't have enough toys:
BCDs / BPWs : 1 (SMS100)
Regs : 3
Lights : 2 (both on the rig)
(my vote) Exposure suits and Rashguards : 1 dry, 2 wet, and a rashguard shirt from a dozen dive operators
Cameras / Housings / Lights : 1 (GoPro and 2 lights)
Fins : 2
Masks : 2 (primary and spare on rig)
Bolt Snaps : 12 on my rig, 4 on second set of tanks, and 4 spares
Tanks :8

This is a rather fun question, but what in your dive gear collection do you have an abnormally higher amount of, as a result of trying different types out or collecting spares over time?

For myself, it's anything to do with BP/Ws. I love that it's the centerpiece of a dive rig, and is infinitely customizable and personalizable. Whilst I never need *another* plate, or cool patterned Halcyon webbing, it's part of the fun and expression of SCUBA. And it's fun to lend to friends to try something new on a dive we've done plenty of times before.

My buddy loves collecting different underwater flashlights, and another likes trying on different masks.

Do you have a growing collection of something, or enjoy exploring a type of gear?

Some say I collect regs. Got sick of always changing reg configurations around so now I just have dedicated B/O Reg for dedicated gasses. Plus I have sidemount regs for when I do OC cave diving.

But then again I need lots of regs some of my dives I need 6 B/O plus 2 regs for onboard gas, another for back up onboard O2, and another for suit and wing inflation, plus another on a drop tank on the boat.

All and all probably have about 15 regs :yeahbaby: :yeahbaby:
