I'm a chemical engineer working with R&D in the pharma/food ingredients industry. What we do is take nutritional additives like viatamins and beta-carotenoid and turn them into powders. The powders then get mixed into soft drinks, breads, infant formula etc. Most of the stuff is sold to USA, so your morning multivitamin pill might have ingredients that I helped to develop!

Isen't it a small world.

Workforce Management Analyst

I forecast the number of technical support calls a major ISP is going to receive by half hour. (Roughly 20,000 calls a day)

I then take this and calculate the number of people I need to answer these calls.

Lots of numbers!!!

My (longwinded) title is Supplier Services Liaison & Public Relations. I work for a Thai company that imports medical equipment and surgical instruments into Thailand and distributes to most hospitals in the country. My job entails corresponding with all our foreign manufacturers, mostly US companies, dealing with the Thai FDA in regulatory affairs, managing the (v. small) IT department, arranging all conferences and training sessions for our manufacturer and sales team and designing our website! (phew... can I breath now? )

... I can tell you that my Mother-in-law is a test pilot at the broomstick factory!
:upset:
She turned me into a frog:out:
I got better though!

I try to enjoy life.

Why is it that one of the first things asked about someone is what do you do? (meaning the job)

My profession is the best means to afford my recreational desires it says nothing about who I am.

My "job" is the activity that I love to do that provides me with money to do the other things that I love to do that do not pay.
My job takes up a truely significant part of my life.
It says a great deal about me as a person.
I am a High School Art Teacher, 10 years.
I am a scuba diver, 8 dives.
And that's why...

I am a RN at our local 300 bed community hospital. I work as a Multi-specialist. What is that ?? That means that I have worked in several areas of the hosptial including ICU and during my shift I walk, sometimes run, around the hospital and help the nurses out with IV, transports, pt's to testing, inserting tubes you name it. Unfortunately I have to work weekends so our diving trips and weekends need to be planned in advance.
