Aqualung blades II. Bought them for 130$ CAD, took them on one dive, came home and bought a pair of jet fins on ebay for 60$ CAD. They go twice as fast

Aqua Lung Legend.

Too much plastic, too little metal, to finiky, not very durable, does not breath like I expected for that much money.

Dive Rite cannister light, old style. I was going to make a video light out of it, too big, too bulky. Anyone want to buy a large cannister light?

I like my cobra console, snorkel and aluminum tanks. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Ebay made a fortune with this philosophy.

gee, TS, your post sounds like something I wrote. I was advised NOT to buy equipment before I got certified and to try various configurations but NOooooo. I took the class/pool portion of my OW and rushed out to buy my gear. Like you I wanted streamlined so I bought the Air2 over the Octo and now regret it for the same reasons TS&M stated. Difficult to use and if the need arose, I would really regret having to breath on that thing while my buddy used my easy breathing reg.
I got lucky and got fins I like but bought a mask I quickly replaced. I have a Scuba Pro GlidePlus BC and I know it is good quality but wonder what a back inflated BC is like.
I bought a SmartCom computer and hate it. Sure, it provides all the info I need underwater but it is very user un-friendly when trying to run through the menu. And the alarms.....they are factory set so conservatively they are ridiculous. I kick twice and the breathing too hard lungs icon pops up. Seemingly the thing is always beeping for something or other. I have learned to ignore it but everyone I dive with is always looking around wondering what is that beeping and where is it coming from. Anyone diving with me more than once just has a laugh with me about it.
If I could do it over,,,,,,,

Bought wetsuit that was size large, then had to get one that was medium, and finally small. Same thing for the BC which had an Oceanic ProbeLX from a large, then to a small, but decided wanted a knighthawk.

The things I lost.

I bought a used drysuit on eBay. It was a great deal until it arrived and I found the seller hadn't disclosed the fact that the suit was for a 7 foot tall diver. I was stuck, but relisted it on eBay with an honest description of the size and discovered there are actually quite a few 7 foot tall divers out there. The only real concern seemed to be what size boots had been sewn into the suit. Eventually I found a buyer who fit the suit and was happy with the purchase. I won't buy anything that needs to be fitted unless I can try it on first.

SP Twin Jets - Replace with $20 Jets from eBay and sold Twins on eBay for what I paid for them.

Yoke regs - Wish I would have gone with the DIN and spent a few extra bucks and got the enviro sealed model, now I wouldn't be thinking of upgrading.

Console - didn't last long

Snorkel - Expensive dry snorkel sits decaying on the bottom of dive box.

Catalina C80 - Darn thing never gets filled to 3300, so I usually end up with 65-68cf instead of 77!

Retractible compass - Hate it, will go wrist mount
