Oh, Lordy,

Let me tell you, the Fiesta night food at SCC was muy bueno. The biggest bowl of quacamole I have ever seen. I took a picture of it...will post it when I get a chance. They had the best selection of freshly made Mexican food. Grilled steak right on the beach...cut into slices for carne asada...oh, fabulous. Chicken Tostadas and small spicy, pillowy burritos with just the right amount of kick. Piles of steamy hot flour and corn tortillas. Taquitos and so much more. I ate way too much. For dessert they served foil baked plantain with cinammon sugar and fresh cream. Looked like a baked potato with sour cream. Tasted like heaven. The setting on the beach, with sunset, festive music and the Gigantic Pinata made the ambiance perfect. Good time had by all.

I am getting ready for dinner. I think I will try KINTA's.

Mary

Oops. Edit that, just got a note slipped under my door. It is FIESTA NIGHT here at SCC. Looks like I will finally have my first drink of the week. And try to hit the big PINATA. Kinta's will have to wait.
Just FYI, unlike most Cozumel restaurants, a reservation is recommended if you want to eat at Kinta. It's small and very popular.

Not sure if this one has been mentioned but we love Costa Bravo.

Its a couple of block off Melgar and a few north of the Punta Lanosta Pier.
Great fish and chicken taco's and a cute little restaurant.

Hola everyone,

Just had a wonderful dinner at El Pique with 4 scuba board companions that I finally got to meet face to face today. I had the gringas....hmmm, hmmm. Truly delicioso. Our waiter was Francisco and it was a wonderfully local place. Two thumbs up.

El Pique has the best pastor in Cozumel IMHO. Hope you got to sit in the back garden.

And Si, sat in back garden. Saw blooming cactus. Took photo. All locals and want to be locals excited over blooming cactus.

Tacos al Pastor :D You need to order that before you leave!! It's one of my favs!

From Wiki:

Usually pork, it is marinated over one or two days with a blend of different chili peppers, spices and herbs (such as adobo), and then slowly cooked on a vertical rotisserie, often with a pineapple on top. When ready, the meat is then thinly sliced off the spit with a large knife. It can be served with small tortillas, onions, pineapple, cilantro and lime. It is also a common ingredient in tacos, burritos, and tortas.
