I promised myself I wasnt gonna post on here cause I knew I would get emotional if I did... Missy, you just had to hit the nail on the head didnt you?? I am fortunate enough to know Kimber well like Missy does, and I have seen all sides of her.... I felt pretty special in that I was the first person she dove with after her operation. Her and I went to the Yukon and ever since she has been a great friend and by far my tech diving mentor. We had plenty of talks about diving, and even more about everything else.

Of all my friends she is probably the one person that I know would put her problems aside to help me with mine no matter what was going on in her life. She reminds me alot of my mother in that she is a very strong fighter and has endured so many obstacles that most people would have folded after, yet she fights on... And from what ive learned from watching my mother and kimber is that no matter what any doctor tells you, you WILL see her up and at it again; you WILL see her out and diving again; and you WILL see the same shining person...

And when I come back from the middle east, I definitely look forward to seeing you again Kimber, you know that... You still have alot to teach me.... I am pulling for you, even though I know you dont need it  You are strong enough by yourself....

I haven't met TDG personally, but I do hope she'll be back "in the pink" shortly.

'Kimber has opened her eyes... She has had some movement and has even cracked a smile. She has shown signs of response, although it's not a definite signal of recovery.

Every single step no matter how small is a positive sign Keep praying.'

And

'On June 3rd our friend Kimber was evacuated to a
hospital for emergency medical treatment. Since then
she has remained in round the clock care in a Critical
Care Unit. She is making progress in
recovery but it is expected that the recovery and
healing time will be long. While insurance covers much
of the very expensive hospical costs, that will
eventually run out, and it does not cover the daily
expenses of caring for her children and her home. We
know that many of you have asked how you can help and
support her during this difficult and challenging
time. To that end we have established the Kimberly
Thurman Recovery Assistance Fund at Washington Mutual
Bank. Contributions will be administered and
distributed in an appropriate manner for expenses not
covered by insurance.

To make a contribution either in name or anonymously

Wishing you all the best, girl!

The staff and ownership of www.ScubaBoard.com heartily endorses this group of concerned individuals. Kimber has a ton of medical bills to deal with currently as well as not being able to provide an income for her wonderful family. We ask not that you give until it "hurts", but that you give until it feels good. God loves a cheerful giver! :D

Wonderful news Abaduck - super to hear. Thanks for letting us know.

Happy, Happy, Feet!

this is wonderful news indeed

“What we do not see, what most of us never suspect of existing, is the silent but irresistible power which comes to the rescue of those who fight on in the face of discouragement.”

I have posted on that site. I hope others will also post there. As was stated a fund has been set-up. The children are the beneficiaries and her mother Pat is the executor. Meaning her mom is able to pay Kimbers bills out of that account. Keep in mind Kimber is a single mom with no income right now.

I have already made my donation. I hope that others who can donate will do so. It is as simple as PayPal. :)

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Kimber has opened her eyes and smiled!! :D She's on her way!!!! Thanks for the good news abaduck and please let her know we will continue to support her however we can - through prayer, financial assistance, and positive thoughts!!!

We're pulling for ya TDG!!!!
