Hello NELDs,
So I spent this weekend diving Back Beach. Saturday was
great, water vis. was near 15 plus feet, and the waves and
current were nil. We (Myself and a friend Marzia) went out with
a group of newly certified students, so it was a less than ambitious
dive, but got to see quite a bit. Very few bugs, a few fish and a large skate.
Someone saw a winter flounder and of course general crab activity.
Sunday conditions were less optimal. The waves were a factor upon entry,
higher tide in the morning thus hidden rocks were also a factor. The vis. had
dropped to about 10 feet, and temps had gone from 47 Sat. to 45 Sunday. All
in all a fun dive. Navigation was key with a max depth on both dives of 30 feet.
I will try to post some pictures here on Scubaboard. Best of luck..
(a camo'd picture of a skate will be added. look carefully)
