Wait, YOU guys are coming up here to dive? Sunday, April 2? Oh, I'm there. Where are we diving? I just wish you gave us more lead time, we'd be diving Point Lobos.

You guys know the sites, so, you make the plans and we will be there! Do we need more than two weeks to plan Point Lobos?

I will make ressies today. We should be up there Friday afternoon, and we are going to stay until noon, or so, on Monday. How long are you going to be in the area?

I'll be in Monterey Saturday night and leave Sunday afternoon about 3-4 pm, then make the 3 hour drive north to where I live.
I'll be diving right at the breakwater most likely doing the pipe out to the metridium fields and then maybe the breakwall out around the corner and back. The diving there is alright. It's not the best diving the area has to offer but it's not bad. Lots and lots of students and activity. That in itself is kind of fun.
I have to kind of stay around there because of the dive shop and the demos.

Here's the link to the calendar. Right now it looks open, but call to be sure. Beats the heck out of diving Breakwater. If we do end up diving Lobos, make sure to bring your c-card and some food and drinks. One reservation is for one dive team (two divers). And don't forget your buddy. You can't solo there.

April 1-2 is opening weekend of Salmon season -- Breakwater parking will be iffy. And
since it looks like the Feds are going to close it the next week, EVERY fisherman will
be out there.

I will be at the Breakwall Sunday morning, around 8:00am, diving one of ZKY's backplates. My buddy Mel will meet us there at about 10:30 or 11:00. We can decide to stay or where to go from there. See everyone, then.

April 1 will not be the salmon opener. We don't even know if there will be an opener depending on what the suits say. I wouldn't worry about parking on account of salmon season, they should all be at home that weekend.
However, the following weekend (8-9) will be the annual Sea Otter Classic cycling races at Laguna Seca. There will be an extra 30k or so people in monterey. Hotels will be dicey if thats your thing.

Looks like that release was from the 15th. On the 10th it was a different story. I'm having trouble keeping up with whats going on. At this point who knows, it could switch back and forth a few times between now and then. FTNMFC

Read the DFG news release. The COMMERCIAL salmon season won't open as scheduled and is in jeopardy. The recreational season opens on April 1, as Chuck stated.
