Just out of curiousity, if you wanted to screw with someone under water, wouldn't you just yank off their mask?

And it sounds like the DA is not pressing charges. This sounds more like some kind of civil complaint--I don't know the law there, but in some places you can press a civil complaint for attempted murder.

But I go back to my original question --if I wanted to really screw with someone under water I'd remove their mask, then maybe cut one of their BC or backplate straps, which would pretty much occupy them. Hell, get behind them and just undo the damn tank strap.

Of course, there is that whole James Bond spear gun fight thing --that would be cool.

And then there is CDNN writing about this, which is like getting your news from the Cartoon Network, except Cartoon Network has more accurate colors.

There is definitely a video, and after seeing it the DA apparently filed his own attempted murder charges against Mirabella. According to people who have seen the video the woman's air valve is turned at least five times towards off. Also confirmed is during the fight DeBeer pulled Mirabella's regulator from his mouth, and Mirabella pulled DeBeer's face mask off.

The best stuff in that edition was the aerial images showing the heavy handed development. Just what we needed- a golf course.

If the victim went to print with their name, then why would you feel the need to black it out here? Makes no sense to me.

Few on this Scuba Forum use their full name, including you, and I expect she wouldn't, either. Her first name is Dana.

Mirabella is the person charged and arrested. Why is the focus on the victim's name instead of the incident?

Does her letter to the editor clarify what happened, or is it just more "speculation?" If on-topic information doesn't interest you please don't shoot the messenger.

Not shooting the messenger. Do not worry. But, if a newspaper article gets printed, I will not print it, black out the names in it and then post it. I am firmly of the opinion that once it is in print, there is no reason at all to black it out.
