All my certs are on my century diver card. All the trainings I passed with SSI. I don’t show my card to have any privilege. I just think in hindsight that I have a better treatment when I show it.

Dody we all like to have privileges that others don't. If I were to bring you to a dive center I have done over 800 dives with there would be dives you would not be able to join due to your lack of experience. Your DM cert would not hold much value. But they would treat you with the same respect and treatment they give to me or any other diver.

but I don’t see how, or why, a card recognizing 100 dives would have a link to all his certs.

Unless, he means the QR code. Each physical SSI card has a QR code that is linked to the diver. Scanning it will take you to a website where the scanner can verify all SSI certs held by the diver.
In the app, if you go to the cards tab and then in the SSI recognition section, you see all recognition. Tap on any recognition, you will have a screen with some information. Tap on the upper section of the screen and you will see the recto or verso. From left to right, at the bottom, you have the number of dives when you got the specific recognition, all your specialties and your QR code.

And I would not expect any privilege based on diving abilities. Once again, you misunderstood. I just believe that being loyal to one brand or one shop have some benefits. And only in Wonderland are all customers treated the same.

There is in fact a way to verify the dives but I find it borderline. You can make a photograph of any SSI shop QR then use it as you wish with a second phone or a computer to verify your dives. It is a bit dishonest.
This is what I do.

Why should they be concerned? I have only have good to very good encounters and relationship with dive shops people 😳

Forgive me Dody for I have sinned.

A DM who writes a post about diving underweighted who got stuck on an overhead might concern some lol.

Dody a lot of your posts are about how you should have known better and to have called an end to the dive but did not, or this or that went awry when there was no reason for that except poor diving skillset. Even though you have lot's of certifications you seem to lack common sense at times. You will get there I was not the best diver either in my first few hundred dives. I'm an OK diver now though.

All those certifications we have don't mean diddly squat when you have a life threatening incident to deal with.

That’s not what you said. See above.

Maybe a language thing, but card implies physical. App is different. All your certs and recognitions are linked to your diver number. That’s not the same as saying that all your certs are on your century diver card.

I was not DM when I wrote those posts except the one about Deep Dive Dubai. Yes, you have sinned but you are forgiven 😇.

Ok. My bad. I have always said that I don’t have physical cards. I don’t like them and won’t have them. When I mentioned my cards, I meant e Cards. My mistake.

Post in thread 'Certification cards!'

You do not have to be a DM to know that you do not enter a cave with no visibility with no torch while knowingly being underweighted.
Even an advanced cert diver would know this. Nice discounting with I wasn't a dm at the time lol

You thread titles though are great I f*** up and I am ashamed

It matters not as they do not know that as you are a DM now and still have the same mindset. As with your post about the Deepdive in Dubai you wrote you should have not done the dive but did so cause you know some guy you don't know told you "you can handle it".
No need for a wing to actually have a working bladder in a pool were you can't really get into any harm lol.

So you see Dody you still have the same issue doing dives when you are thinking I should not do this. But being macho man is much better. Dare not embarrass oneself being a DM and not calling a dive over equipment malfunction before the dive eh?
Or your thread about CESA when you still have a tank with usable air in it. Why are you thinking you must do a CESA when you have accessible air in your tank? I love your posts Dody they are very informative and fun have discourse in.

Keep these threads coming Dody, don't stop now.
