PADI has obtained approval from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for qualified veterans, active military personnel and some dependents to be reimbursed the US $440 Instructor Examination (IE) fee. This reimbursement is available under the VA Licensing and Certification Tests Benefit program.

More info can be found through this link:

Not a bad deal if your thinking about instructor.

Bummer. I got into diving too late. My ten years was up last year. :(

Not that I'm anywhere near ready for my IDC anyway.

Hope this change does some of you some good!

That is what I am planning on doing.

I got an email from PADI before summer and that's when I decided to go for my instructor.
I figure I am going to be diving in FL a lot some day and I might as well be able to do for free or get paid to do it.
I enjoy working with lots of different people and I love to teach. I do that for a part of my living.

Thanks for the link because I had lost it!!
