I have to agree with holocline and DAAM and couv and Herman and the usual experts......go for a G250 2nd stage only.....anything more and all you'll be doing is upgrading the badge.
 
When I say out grown it I was 88Ft underwater and some times i at certain angles it was hard for me to breath through the reg..

on shallow ends I notice if im facing the surface its near impossible to breath through the reg.

This is related to the geometry of the case of the second stage and is always present to some extend, with the possible exception of some special designs like the D400 mentioned above.

My favorite 2nd is also the G250; it's got a pretty well optimized geometry. The phenomenon you described is noticeable if you pay attention to it, but nothing drastic, and I've never experienced it to the extend of "near impossible to breathe". Since I tend to tune my regs "soft", they breathe OK when I look up, and a bit wet when I look down. Again, nothing drastic.

So +1 for the G250/G250V.
