Hale, they were on an oceanography class dive, The oceanography class will get you certified during class, The boys were juniors and got certified. They dove after cert in Tahoe, although new to diving, Steven just got a dive watch, and Knife, and all he could talk about was the trip, is what his sister said. From what the sister said, the mother was brave, as she wanted her daughter to get Keegan's parents number, and told her they got separated from group and nothing to worry about. A little over a half an hour Stevens mom called her daughter and said they were doing CPR and going to hospital. Mom called back and told her they were gone.
The sister was real close as were the whole family, The thing that got me was the sister came home early from collage and they had a early easter egg hunt, and she came home early to see Steven before his dive trip.
Steven and Keegan were best of friends, all they ate was "shells and Cheese" Stevens sister said she will miss that smell when she comes home and walks in the house.
Lamont I agree with you.
There is only wonder in what happen, the gear was fine, they had a little dive experience. this morning I thought of being narced, at the 80' to 90' and young. I dove way deeper and was younger and got Wacked out of it, yet everyones different.
They did have Divemasters in the water for an oceanography class, but to what degree were they is undetermined. Although they prep for safety, it did not turn out so well. I'll leave it at that.
Steven and Keegan were very likeable and enjoyed life to the fullest. The other students that witnessed this first hand will be cautious divers, or never dive again, it depends on how they take it, Steven and Keegan played pranks on others in all good and fun, I wish this was a prank.
Happy Diving
