Would hanging some pvc pupe at the opening help?
Run rope through the pipes with a weight at the bottom and hang them over the opening.
Divers who want to enter could easily swim through them but it would warn those who don’t intend to enter.
1” pvc long enough to reach from the top to the bottom of the opening would probably be big enough. Placing them a foot apart should serve as a warning.

Does not apply for this wreck the Dead Box is complicated, they just need to put very clear signs on shore that do dive that wreck you need to have proper training and double tanks, extra mask and lay a line if you want to enter the wreck doesn't matter if the steel guide cable on the vault of the ship is there for that purpose.

The Dead Box is the aft of the wreck, it is a intricate structure, you can enter from the bottom or the top, but normally you enter from the bottom and go out at the wheel house ( top ).

It is not like you can enter un avertedly, because the steel cable ( guide cable ) stops before you enter the Dead Box , so you have to intentionally enter it.

They shall put a sign at the entry point of the bottom with enough warning to deter any one not training or well equipped.

I thought someone said it was easy in low visibility to accidentally enter that space.
