Guys
As an introduction to reg maintenance, I've got a Mk10 on its way to me.
To remove the HP cap, what size pins does the pin spanner need?
Also what size of C spanner is appropriate for this reg body?
If it's in good nick, I might get some other tools in order to service it properly. Just need to strip it down first.
Cheers 🍻
Thanks.

That’s a decent 2nd stage, but you might want to look for an old G250 or balanced/adjustable. Then you can use the R190 as your alternate 2nd stage. I’m assuming this will be a recreational diving set up, i.e. two 2nd stages on one 1st stage.
Just did. Not coming up with any right now. 😐
Reg arrived this morning. It's very tidy. I'm happy with it. Need to test it now then strip it down and take it from there.
No doubt I'll have a few more questions over the coming weeks 🙄

I bet something will come up for sale. Another good one, often overlooked, is the G200B. I don’t like the newer G250HP as much personally, and the G500/S600 is more complicated to work on. A great performing 2nd stage is the D300/350/400, but they are very different in terms of servicing, so you might want to wait on one of those.

Aren’t they more or less the same (if they are the versions with the old knob/seat saver)?
Speaking of — anyone know of a source for that special tool that’s not scuba tools? (Preferably in the EU)
(Apologies to OP for the slight :hijack:)

How smart are you guys!

And it works good with the tiny tiny pins if you carefully hold it in there with force

And you're not corroded

Mk 10-200B, I think, has been my mostest lots dived reg

with no stinking knob to never work out what to do with

Viva even confuses me

Hey and what you do is hammer your roll pins into whatever you have like a pushbike handlebar bracket

and sim sala bim, voilà from knowwhereland comes from 8 roll pins you get 4 keys to fit all sorts of regs

Like magic!

Yeah I'm making some dir one piece harness chest straps for guess what

027.JPG

for fins so my hands are free when I come out of the water after purping

028.JPG

so I can walk out stably without snapping my elbow, due to holding fins
and drown because there is no way am I letting them go not for $300.00

Have you seen the price of that thing! 😮😮

Yep! :rofl3:

All specialised scuba tools are priced at a pretty premium.

If you were in the US, this Scubapro multi-tool is more durable and more reasonably priced …

Unfortunately SCUBA SERVICE TOOLS | Online store for scuba equipment service tools doesn’t offer an equivalent Scubapro multi-tool. I have asked, but I suspect it would cannibalise sales of their other single purpose Scubapro tools. 😥

Unfortunately in the UK nowadays we have the issue of having to pay tax and duty plus courier fees on items bought from abroad. Often makes it not viable. Pain in the ass for stuff not available in UK.
