Guys
As an introduction to reg maintenance, I've got a Mk10 on its way to me.
To remove the HP cap, what size pins does the pin spanner need?
Also what size of C spanner is appropriate for this reg body?
If it's in good nick, I might get some other tools in order to service it properly. Just need to strip it down first.
Cheers 🍻
Thanks.

The Atomic tool looks like a great multi-tool for their 1st stages at a fair price !

But I noticed that Atomic has 3 pin holes in their HP seat retainer (SP MK5/MK10 has 2). Are there any differences in the piston diameter and bore between the Atomics and SP MK10 ?
Oops, I linked a different tool accidentally. You are right about the pin difference.

I actually meant the pin lock tool: Atomic Pin-Lok First Stage Tool

The Atomic tool fits tightly on Atomic regs, so I am not sure if it fits a Mk10, but I think one could modify it. That's an @rsingler question... The alu tool linked earler would be my choice for a Mk10.

Have to say, I'm not a big fan of multitool pin spanners. If you're twisting hard and it rocks even slightly, out comes one pin and you scratch your chrome.
Much easier to trap face spanner pins under your thumb while you twist with the other hand. Plus, one tool fits a variety of spacings.

The Atomic cap tool with pins is great, but it's too short for Z's. I use it on the swivel models, but a hook spanner is just as good, if a little more scary because of the possibility of the pin skipping out.
The Atomic three-pin tool for the HP seat Carrier is good because you can press down firmly, and with three pins it won't rock. But a face spanner works fine, too.

Fits all models of everything everywhere and no chance of injuring your self or your regs

See the deflection of the soft jaws in that vice, what about the strap wrench, on the base

Steel pins in chrome plated brass holes, and applying the force of 10 men, to open a reg

Yeah right!

Come on, how many of you have regs back from the dive shop, with body holes peened

But they used the recommended factory tools!!!!

the guy apologised then spent 45 minutes explaining how it wouldn't affect reg function
