Needless to say, there was a radio on board, it was just an excuse to "clear the bridge".
Here's most of my original post from ScubaBoard2, made while this 'Board was down:
"Not to mention the fact that the divemaster gave rather extensive instructions about what to do should "you be the last one on the boat, looking back at all of us at the tiki bar with the giant bowl of margarita and multiple straws waving at you". The answer? "Dial channel 16 on the radio".
Heck, a Coast Guard certified boat isn't even allowed to operate without a radio."
It is, however, rather interesting, that the captain thought that this was a viable statement to make. Maybe we should have called the Coasties - that would have certainly caused some excitement!

Any way you slice it, that's just a ridiculous way to do business! In doing so, the owner would need to give the money back to those folks and then he's losing money. A loss that he's likely to try to recoup from boat op.Divergirl4u:the boat left 16 min early and left 1/2 the group in the dive shop ...
