Yep, give them a break. A small percentage of errors is acceptable, and while that cust. svc. does not sound good, they make up for it in other ways, and you almost never need them. Just tell them you wernt happy, and maybe theyll send you something for free.

Not trying to bash the jewish, I did marry one after all, but is the whole staff Jewish. Seems anytime they go on vacation the whole place goes. If they are out fridays, typically one of the most busy days for retail they should have non jewish staff to run the place on those days. I am sure if they are shipping out 20k a day they arnt all jewish. Bad excuse.

I am not arguing over time period, as I have said if they told me we wont be able to ge to it untill next week fine.

I ma pissed b/c of their lack of care over the situation, they could care less if they got it or not. If you dont keep your customers happy they go some where else, period.

Good communication is all it takes, I might not be shipping 1 million a day but I do lots of shipping/recieving running a storefront/internet shop and disagree about how easy it is to lose a package. I have had a UPS driver take a package back on the truck but have it back byy the next day.

In anycase I will live, but next time I am going to the LDS for regs, BCDs anything to expensive.

;-0 Ill stop being a baby and wait my turn but learned a lesson, you get what you pay for, gray market prices = gray market product and fuzzy customer service.

I think they are orthodox jewish.
I also think today is a jewish holiday.
If they are in on Friday I bet they close by 2pm.
(I use to work for a guy who was very religious)

I don't know anything about Jewish Holidays but I do know LP is closed on Fridays and Saturdays. If you place an order with them on Thursday, it's the following Monday before it gets sent out.

Ben,

If they are anything like my ex-inlaws...who were devout Baptists and didn't lift a finger on Sunday...even to the point that they would cook most of their Sunday dinner on Saturday.... they also believed it was wrong to make "someone else" lift a finger for them on Sunday.....

So, in other words...no restaurants on Sunday.

The ownership of LP may have this belief as well as part of their faith. The strict Baptist philosophy on this pulls it from the Old Testament.....therefore, Hebrew in origin.

Sorry....I got off topic.

They clearly tell you this too - that they're closed Friday and Saturday - when you place an order.

Its part of the owner's religious beliefs, and I respect that - just as I take off Saturday and Sunday, they take off Friday and Saturday.

I've been in there a couple of times. They have a very small front office staff for the amount of business they do. There's a small call center with about five operators, a cashier, and one or two guys working the floor. It doesn't seem that there are enough people there to keep the place open during religious holidays.

Ben- My explanation about shipping problems with larger companies was more in response to the liar comments. I was not trying to razz you about the lack of compassion you got with your problem. You have a right to be upset about that.

Not trying to get into the LP vs LDS debate. I use both, and spend enough money in both places that neither should complain

Having said that, why are so many people assuming that LP is lying? What benefit would that provide them over saying they have it, and factoring thier vacation into the turn time for repair/replacement?

I'm an Account Manager for a mfg. company that ships about 60 million dollars worth of product annually. Most people have no idea how many problems like this happen every day with shipped packages, and it's not always the senders, or the receivers fault. We've had delivery drivers get a package signature, and then accidentally put it back on the truck with his pickups. Sometimes the package will be halfway across the country before the carrier finds it! All the while, the customer will be yelling "I have a delivery signature"!

Once you get up into high volume shipping (we get 18 wheelers picking up Fedex) errors like this become common. It's a much more likely scenario than thinking a multimillion dollar business is going to lie over a $30 reg. tune up.

Ben- I hope that it turns up when they get back, and you're in the water again soon.

Scott

You are absolutely right. In my business, we sign for packages all the time but they may not be where they are supposed to be. So depending on who you talk to, they are in the dark. Get the sig that accepted the package and go from there. It happens all the time. There's no lying intentionally. They know what a bashing they will take if that becomes the norm.

Is equipment servcing a standard offering of LeisurePro?

When I have visited their Web site, looking for such a link or any information, I can't find anything on servicing of scuba equipment.

As to the statement; "Not trying to bash the jewish, I did marry one after all, but is the whole staff Jewish. Seems anytime they go on vacation the whole place goes. It is against the doctrine to work, make money, or allow anyone else to work for you or make money for you on the Sabbath. The only work-around permitted by the rabbi on this point is if you sell your business to a gentile prior to the Sabbath and buy it back post Sabbath. This is what the Long Distance Telephone and Internet company IDT does every friday. When I was working there they used to pick a person (one time it was me) that they sold the company to for $1 and buy it back on Sunday. Can't shut down a Telephone/Internet company over the weekend after all.

On the other hand IDT also hired non-jewish employees to work that time slot. This is because they can not permit any practicing (or NON-practicing) jews to work durring that time EVEN IF THEY TECHNICALLY DONT OWN THE COMPANY durring the time frame. I had lots of friends that were always pissed that it was compulsary for them not to work the Sabbath even though they were a non-practicing jew.

Like I said I mean no offence to the Jews, if that is their practice so be it.

Sorry for any offence I might have caused by this. Atleast they are open on Sunday, and did send me an email today

"Please call Max" Which I will on monday so hopefully this works out well. I will keep you posted. I also emailed a link to this post to LP before SpyderTeks responce so they had a fair chance to put in their work. I think we got it.

 I rented a reg for the weekend for $15 and got my diving in regardless, just cant wait to have my own gear back.
