Sounds like stuff is starting to come together for you. Glad you were able to get some dives in (I wasn't...Venice beach was a bit too rough) and keep us posted!

Leisurepro screwed me as well.....they say one thing then do another. They never keep you updated. They dont answer questions with more than a sentence. It takes days to get a response. They avoid answering questions.

I think their prices are fantastic, but their service is ****.

This problem isnt just mine, ive spoken to a number of people with the same complaints. IF you expect ****e service its easier to deal with it, so if your going to use them just expect the worst.

Since I live in NJ and work in NYC.. my experience may differ from yours. I had 2 Oceanic 180 degree octo's start leaking air in the same weekend. They were purchased 8 months ago. I called them just to verify that they would take a look at them. I stopped on the way home to drop the octo's off at their store in NYC. I explained the problem that I was having with the sales person and I also explained that I did not have my receipt with me. He said no problem. I dropped the octo's off on Wed. and he explained the guy who does the service comes in on Sunday. I called on Sunday and they explained that the Octo's have been adjusted. I picked them up on Monday and was not charged a cent. I did 2 dives last Saturday and my octo' did not leak.

I have been to Leisure Pro a few times and have overall been pleased with them. I also frequent my LDS, so to each his own, and you need to weigh what is important to fit your needs.

Alex, I have made 4 separate rather large purchases from LP and I have never had the problems you described. I had my salespersons name and called them if I had a question. They were always helpful. Sorry you have had such a poor experience. I would not order from anyone else.

FWIW, I did talk to LP today. The general sales manager called me at work. Althoguh we oly talked briefly I have the feeling this shoudl work out. I hope, he did state that he knows customer service is the most important issue. He also went on to ask me for the tracking number again!

I told him that I talked to someone else from the service dept earlier and they said they have the package so there is no need for the tracking number. He said he will put the rush on getting back the regs to me. He asked me to post a follow up here which I told him I would do after recieving the items back.

Ill keep you posted. We will see:rolleyes:

I went to the leisure pro store front in new york a few weeks ago while I was in town. They are all very nice to work with and have the same prices in the store as they do in the catalog. Everything you get is new and in the package. I was impressed. They offer two week no questions asked returns on their items as well. But I can't really drive to New York everytime I need my tank filled. But I can buy two reg sets from leisure pro for the price of one from my local dive shop. I personally buy all my small items from my local dive shop. Mask defog etc, and shop around for the best deals on big purchases. If the dive shop can't compete it will be forced to change or go out of business, if it does i iwill buy my own compressor and oxygen tanks and do it myself. I am friends with my local dive shop owner, he shops around to find the best deals when he buys stuff, I work for my money so I shop around too.

He gets enough of my money on training. If the prices are remotely close I will go with him. Otherwise I shop.

FWIW, I talked to the sales manager on Monday, I have the gear back in my hands now on thurday. I wasnt charged for return shipping and every thing was taken care of. The inspection was done and all the extra parts from the parts kit were included as well. I got a note the HP seat on the mares oct was bad and was replaced.

All worked out in the end, just wished the communication was this good from the start.

ReeferBen

You caught them on a bad day and weekend. No need to get so excited. These people have been around the block. If they treated their customers like sh#$t then they would not have any customers. Everyone drops the ball know and then. You just happen to hit the floor this time.
