The point is the communication level was as if they have been in business one week not many years. One sentance responces to a concerned customer is unacceptable.

On top of that the box was in their possetion since Monday who knows why they couldnt find it but the tracking info and signature tracking system from UPS shows it was delievered on Monday yet they could find it for a week. To me that is bad customer service. If I had that complant on a wensday I would have found the box for the customer by wensday. Not the next business day.

All in all they realized they screwed up and needed to get this taken care of. SO I am glad the rushed the package back to me and took care of that situation. I dont care how long the service would have taken as long as they didnt tell me it was lost.

But like the previous post said they did rush it and get it taken care of. Still in the future my regs are coming from LDS while my wetsuits, fins ect will come from LP.

LP is a dive shop in New York who has grown to be a huge dealer on line. They can sell anything they have for whatever they want. That is the law, and there is no fair trade law in existance now. Price fixing is illegal in the U.S. Many companies tell their dealers that they will offer protection from nearby shops so no two dealers close to each other have the same brand. Companies also offer to help shops make a living by not allowing discounting of their product. These companies pull the line from a shop who cuts the price. LP has a disclaimer on their site explaining that they are are not direct dealers on some items they sell. They offer a full warranty on all these products. Welcome to America where competition rules. P.

Excellent shop... they probably have better prices because they purchase more volume then the local dive shop would... I've had great experience with them so far... I'm about to order a reg setup and bc from them right now, which is why i searched 'Leisure Pro' on this board, because their site has been down the last 2 days... maybe it has to do with that mass power outage in the east coast...

LP is the dive shop you love to hate.. Just like Wal-Mart and Home Depot.. Any LDS owner who shops at Wal-Mart and has a problem with LP is a 2 faced (no offense). Price and selction are the name of the game now. There is not doubt that both places put small business out on the streets. I like going to my LDS and it is a good one. They have a limited selection and high prices, but that know me and have good advice.. Same with my local independent Ace hardware store right around the corner from my house. But when I get ready to shop, I will drive to Home Depot or Wal-mart .. then I ***** about how they put the little guy under. someone besides me should pay the extra margin, I need a good deal.. Im not rich... Sound familiar?

I only use the LDS for small thing like booties, flags, tank fills etc.. I bought a suunto cobra from LP for half the price they wanted at my LDS.. It is not fair to them because their hands are tied to the min retails but It is hard to justify getting a lesser product for the same money from my LDS when I can get a Cobra from LP..

What should the LDS do? Complain and boycott the manufactuers to get them to lower their min retails which hold everyone hostage. Competition and margin should determine the price, not a minimum retail which amounts to a form of legal price fixing... They will still have the issue of internet retailers with higher volume and less overhead willing to make less margin, but the gap would be narrower. People would be more willing to pay a "little" extra for the knowledge and service,,, but never double..

PS. My LDS wanted $870 for the Cobra.. I got it on LP WITH a compass for $474... Works AWESOME! I used what I saved to buy a new ScubaPro MK25/G250 from LP for $319 (LDS wanted $499).. Also works great.

Tanks however, I will always buy from the LDS.. They can offer free refills which makes it a MUCH better deal than LP can offer.

.... I could take the guts out of a reg and see which one of you gets it just to prove my suspcion that they don't even test them before they ship.

You're kidding, right? I thought you were supposed to be one of the good LDS's. Why would you say such a thing? ...Sabotaging a diver's regulator because they bought it from Leisure Pro...

:(

just walked over to LeasurePro... it's funny, they also own the store that sells camera's and that store is on the first floor with a window display. LeisurePro is actually on the 3rd floor. But anyway, the window display has a decal - "Authorized OMS Dealer".. huh? but when you go the OMS website adn search for the dealers in New York, they are, of course, not listed.

What do you make of that?

What are you smoking?

I buy plenty of LP items, and they are *not* authorized dealers for "the brands it carry" as you said. Call the manuf. and ask. I called Dive Rite, for example, and was told that Dive Rite has no clue where LP gets their gear from, and would shut down that path in a heartbeat, if they knew.

If they were manuf. reps, then why would there be a need to get offer their own warranty in place of the manuf. warranty they can't offer...

Back door access is exactly where "some" of their goods come through. they are reps for some manufacturers, but not all by any means. (Second example...SUUNTO computers...)

Please pass some of what ya smokin' along...Must be some great stuff.

DiveRite can figure out how LP is getting their products - they have serial numbers, don't they? DiveRite, Scubapro et al love LP. They buy a bunch of their gear and aren't allowed to offer the warranty to the consumer.

When DiveRite or Scubapro claim that they want to shut down unathorized distribution, they are just hoping we are as stupid as we look.

I thought that I should let everyone else know about my recent dealing with leisure pro... I ordered a zeagle bc and a few other odds and inns and was going to have them shipped to a po box, which I confirmed the previous day that they would ship to. I then received an email the following day saying that they couldn't ship to the po box, which wasn't that big of deal, so I gave them a physical address which happened to be in a different city. They shipped the items a day late after they had assured me that they would be shipped on time, monday sept 7. When I got the email saying that they had shipped it I noticed they had shipped it to a mixture of my po box address and my physical address....It was like pulling teeth just to talk to someone who knew what was going on...I had to call ups myself to have the address changed! If they were a halfway decent bussiness they would have offered to send out another package or give me a refund, neither which happened, I didn't get as much as an apology.

Sorry, had to vent and let everyone else know!

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I have seen mixed reviews concerning LeisurePro, but luckily I have always had good service. I have ordered from them numerous times and even had to return a couple things. I thought is would take forever to receive the credit, but it actually only took them 2 days after they received the merchandise to credit my card back.

Welcome to the world of mail/phone/online ordering.

The prices are low for a reason. You are dealing with people who don't get paid very much and have a lot to do.

I'm surprised to find someone who doesn't know that some shippers won't deliver to a PO box.

You fixed it with a phone call to UPS. Expecting LP to double ship is pretty unreasonable.

Next time don't give them two addresses and include the shipping address in every bit of correspondence. It will do miracles for your blood pressure.
