You haven't lived until you are in 5' of water when the boat goes over your head and you see the blades of the outboard... you surface and the lifeguard is still blowing his whistle, the boat driver is unaware/doesn't care/could care less/ and the boat that just missed your head by a few inches just putzes along like he has no worries in the world... and anyone who happens to be in the way must be stupid...

That is why I copied you & have a larger flag hoping I'll be noticed. I just need to have it closer to me when I am in such a shallow area. Honestly I never thought a boat would go thru that span. There are deeper areas as well as the channel!! A week or so ago another boat ran in front of the boat ramp beach side of the anchored boats heading towards the swim area right over the area to which I was heading to start my dive. Hmmm wonder if it was the same yahoo?

Guess the big flags don't help as Jenny has one too.

That was the area I was in. My big flag was right over the top of me... a part of the boat went right over my head, and it was so close I thought I was going to have my head crushed under the hull :shakehead:

Sometimes I think big flags are easier to hit!!!:shakehead:

Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. You're supposed to take a big red flag with a white diagonal stripe on it. Not a big red flag with white concentric circles on it! :rofl3:

Drat! I thought it looked different..
Thanks! :rofl3:

Ready to go diving with me?? :D

OK, all you BHB regulars, I will be returning from Key Largo to Jacksonville on Monday, June 28th. High tide is scheduled for approximately 11 AM. The info I have read says we should be ready to get in the water about 10:30, so the timing could work for a stop along the way.

We are traveling by motor home, towing a small car. The motor home is 35' and the car adds another 10', although it could be disconnected. Is there room to park and get turned around with a rig this big on your average week day?

If you can only dive one side of the bridge, which side would you choose?

Thanks,
Herb
