I bought a pair of oceanic v12 split fins last week and got to test them out last weekend at Vortex springs. All I can say is that they were AWESOME!! I will never go back to using paddle fins. I know everyone has there favorites and I have definitly found mine. They were 100x better on my ankles and legs than my paddle fins. Was able to enjoy the dive much better without leg cramps. I would definitly tell others, who are looking, to go with splits and don't waste your money on paddle fins. But thats just my .02 worth.

Well lot of divers here will say they're no good caus you can't
back up with them
can't do helicopter turns with them
and you can't do frogkicks with them.

That all just BS. I do it on all my dives and the V12s work just fine.
Had a discusion with some DIR diver who saw me doing all this and on the dive they did not believe what they say and after the dive came up to me and asked how it was possible, cause they where tought that it was just not possible:D
I can,you can it just takes practice:D

Now go love your V12s :rofl3:
