They also have a 3 day discrepancy in surface interval which is really weird with teric #1 thinking I have been dry only 13 days, while teric #2 has the correct 16 day SI.

Twice I've had the Teric randomly reset the tissues. So that might have happened.

I've never been able to replicate it, it just happened. Once as I was getting out of water. And once just randomly while I was downloading my dives.

That could be it... I downloaded from teric #1 when I got back from the trip so the timing checks out.

It will also reset tissues if you update the firmware FYI :)

Yup..that was it. I looked back and realized I had one on v22 and other on v23 and fixed that right after I got back (right after I downloaded it). At least one mystery solved.. :p

I "accidentally" did this on my last trip but luckily it happened to coincide with 48+ hours out of the water.

Sadly I think Teric v2 is now going to be headed back to Richard and Michele for its lacklustre battery performance :(. It sucks, because it worked flawlessly otherwise!

Not looking good for teric #1. Emailing them today.

Teric 1 Teric 2 100% on 5/29 100% on 5/29 68% on 6/12 100% on 6/12 46% on 6/26 96% on 6/26

I've had Teric #7 for about 5 months now. Initially, it sat idle for about 4 months while I recovered from a broken leg. For that entire time, it only consumed about 0.3% of battery charge per day.

About a month ago I went down to Florida and dived it for 5 days. After 10 dives, just under 10 hours of diving, the battery was down to 34%. After recharging, it is now at 96% at 20 days. I'm leaving for Malpelo tomorrow and will put it to work with about 21 dives over 7 days.

I'm hoping #7 will be my perfect Teric.

Unfortunately, not to be. I just finished my trip to Malpelo. The Teric worked perfectly the first 11 dives. On Dive 12, I glanced down and had the comms error on my Teric while my trusty Oceanic VT3 was giving me my cylinder pressure. When I got back to the RHIB, I confirmed the antenna failure by linking in direct contact with the transmitter and losing the link a few inches away.

I will contact my friends Richard and Michele at Dive-Tronix when I get home from Colombia ☹️

Wow - you have had bad luck, but all of this confirms that the Teric still has ongoing issues. I can’t imagine Shearwater is proud with the reliability of this DC - I’d expect a Teric 2 with a redesign to solve these issues to come in the next year

My last battery fix (the 3rd “fix”!) seems to have largely done the trick - but the more I use it, the less the battery holds charge well over longer storage. It’s fine over a typical dive trip as I can recharge as needed at night.

BTW - how was Malpelo this time - your second trip there, right?
