Please note that SB members are (1) more likely than run-of-the-mill divers to have purchased a Teric, (2) are more likely to post any issues, especially since it is such a hot topic, and (3) probably dive more than non-SB folks. So, in terms of the percentage of Terics that actually have problems, I'm not sure what you see is representative of the numerator and we have no knowledge of the denominator. I do know that at least 6 of my diving friends have Terics, and none have mentioned any problems, nor are they in the poll for this thread.
The shortcomings of SB polls, and this one in particular, have been previously addressed. Unfortunately, it's all I/we have in this case.

I am unaware that Shearwater has ever addressed the Teric battery problem publicly. Shearwater has all of the service repair and replacement data in addition to sales records and serial number tracking.

If you know divers with Terics who are on SB, please encourage them to reply to the poll. With every update summary, I ask readers to respond to or update their vote in the poll, all I can do.

Is there a recommended protocol for battery charging and storing? I know on cellphones the life of the Li-ion battery can be extended greatly by keeping the charge level between 20% to 80%, i.e. don't discharge below 20% or charge above 80%. Storage at around 50% is also recommended with recharge to that level every 3 months.

I think it says something like that in the manual.

I think it says something like that in the manual.
The manual says:
To prevent damage to the battery please do the
following:
1) Fully charge the Teric prior to storage
2) Top up the Teric battery every 6 months

Divetronix says:
Battery Care Tips: Please do not allow the rechargeable battery to completely discharge. Only use the factory charger. Most aftermarket chargers are too powerful for the small Teric battery and can damage the battery. While in storage, charge the battery when it reaches 25% - 30%. Charge more often if you are diving. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charges. Frequent battery charges can diminish the life of the battery. Do not leave your Teric on the charging cradle, it will not keep it charged (this is a safety feature).

Thanks...I tried all that stuff already and still can't seem to get anywhere. I shot an email to Shearwater and will report back.
Shearwater is replacing it. I changed my vote from "Yes, repair" to "Yes, multiple repair and/or replacement" since I think that fits me best (one repaired and one replaced).

@Bigbella

Got it today, it’s beautiful.

I just changed my vote to multiple repair/replacement. I'm on Teric #3; I only paid for 1 back in 2018. All of my problems have been battery life. The computer has always worked, always charged, always held enough charge for several days of diving. Each time I've let Divetronix know the battery wasn't holding a charge anywhere near the spec they have replaced it. Both times they shipped the replacement as soon as they got shipping info on the return. I dive with the Teric as my primary computer, with a non-AI Perdix as the backup.

Sorry to hear, I'm hoping that most/all of the battery problems have been worked out.

I just received my 7th Teric. The factory dive on the computer was May 22, 2022 Specific reasons(s) for sending in your Teric for repair(s) and/or replacement I'm really hoping this will be the one :)

@Robert H. Diver @Bigbella

OK. You guys did me in. I bought one of their remaining Perdix 2 Tis in silver. I took #7 ... currently 6 left. Just too good of a deal to pass up.

Thanks for the tip @Bigbella!!
I think I should have picked up another perdix 2 vs teric. After last year, I am just used to it now.
