I've never found the shuttle to be an issue. It seems simple to me. They are cheaper than the cab fare back from centro, too. At least they were for me this time. 88 pesos vs. what will be 102 on Sunday.
After last night, I say bring on Uber. I came back from a night dive and the driver made me pay him 140 when I only owed 110. He insisted that the price was because I was not in el centro. "No, aqui es el centro; el centro es de Melgar hasta 65, al menos, y estamos en 40." And that's only zone 1. According to him, el centro only extends to 30th after 9 pm. Maybe it was my own fault because I didn't have exact change and I was trying to get him to give me 100 back for 210. Usually spanish works when they try to screw you.
