Question Tank damage. Was this from the dive shop?

The one gouge looks deep.. is that into steel or still just paint?

They still look better than all my tanks... but I understand trying to keep nice stuff nice.

My issue is that if this much damage gets done every time they need testing, 10 years time they'll be destroyed!

Well that's not good at all. I'd be a little upset if they were knocked around that much. All mine have cosmetic blemishes, but none have anything that deep (at least that I can think of).
