I am new to this part of the forum. My parents just moved to Dunnellon, FL and I'd be diving in the tampa area quite often this summer. Howdy all.

Hiya. Keep an eye on this thread and maybe read the last couple of pages of part 2. Just so you are in the loop, so to speak. Welcome by the way.

N@rco$i$,

Are we still on for Tuesday the 9th?

Sure are, Haven't picked a spot yet. but we are still on.

eandiver:
Long way north. Pasco tanks are 16.8 nm from Anclote entrance (Anclote power plant) on a 304 degree true course.

From Johns Pass the Pinellas tanks are 8.04 nm on a 214 course and the Betty Rose is 14.5 nm on a 236 course. Couple other good sites down this way too.

EANDIVER,

Do you have the coords for the Pinellas tanks you are talking about?

And how about the betty rose? I'd like to get my boat out there and do some diving.

I have 2 sets of numbers, pretty close together but I haven't been there yet.

Betty Rose 65'
N 27°42.50 W 82°58.36
N 27°42.612 W 82°58.274

Rich

Rich is pretty close. N 27 42.587 W 82 58.309 for the Betty Rose but the depth is only 40' to 45'.

Pinellas tanks are N 27 40.635 W 82 51.690 but I don't know how accurate those numbers are. Kinda like Pasco tanks where you need to use the MOB method to find them. They are scattered about.

Orange tug is 1 mile SSE of the Betty Rose at N 27 43.367 W 82 58.456 and should be marked with a bouy.

That's the trouble with older numbers, back before mid 2003 the Air Force (who controls the satelites) scrambled the civilian gps signal and you could easily be 500' off. The 2 numbers I have vary by about 800', but both are within 500' of your numbers. Now if we only had 500' of viz......

I concur... numbers I have

Betty Rose (Permit Barge):
N 27 42.584 W 82 58.268 (South end)
N 27 42.612 W 82 58.274 (North end)
Max Depth: 45

I have 9 Tank numbers for Pinellas (not sure about complete accuracy... I have not been to all of them):

That should keep N@rco$i$ busy for a while!!!

Why do I envision thousands of pens scribing as fast as possible.... and a line to dive on some tanks? (lol)

A tank is a tank is a tank........sorry for being so negative but after 6 years in one they all look the same.....wait a minute....THEY ARE!!!!

Time for the Gunsmoke, Shrimper and for those who are daring the Bayronto.
