that means NO manifold
So the OMS straps won't work then. I think I'll go with a set of steel bands with the "pigtail" or the solid bar yoke if I can find one.

If not a newer DIN/Yoke manifold with the DIN fitting sealed off might work. I was even thinking that since I'll probably never buy a DIN reg or dive independent doubles, that I could even put some sort of sealer on the plug prior to screwing it in place to ensure no leaks.

Anyone know of any stores in town that sell this kind of stuff that I can see in person? Does Ocean Planet? or one of the Tucson stores, I'm down there periodically.

If you just interested in carrying around some extra air for longer bottom time at rec limits, this is what we did in Bonaire... We slung an 80al using stage rigging. Took up small amount of space in luggage and very little extra weight. Took no time at all and allowed a nice long bottom time on the Hooker!

When diving single in Bonaire, did the same thing. Had a 40cf with air on the left side and a 19cf with 100% on the right.

Pony bottle rentals were 10 bucks a day; included the sling ... couldn't beat that.

Intelligent Dive Systems (Ocean Planet Partner)

Not sure these fit your needs, but gives you some other due diligence materials.

Thanks, that's pretty much Exactly what I was looking for. Some way to use rental double tanks with a single rec. reg. Now I'll have to see if the IDS rig will work with my Ranger's dual tank conversion kit - I don't have a backplate. But I do have a 66lb. bladder so no problem floating the twins...

I'm not exactly sure what this is. Does that mean that the 2nd 80 was somehow integrated into your air flow or did it have it's own regulator? I'm actually looking for more bottom time at depths of less than 60' - in a lot of cases less than 30'. I shoot HD video so the more light the better.
hoping to do the Windjammer next time we're there.
It's on my list also. Although I heard BOPAL closed the road last year - well at least posted a sign...

(Sign? What sign? I don't read Papamientu...:crafty: - of course I'm sure it's in English there)

Stage bottle is clipped onto your shoulder and waist d rings, probably wouldn't work for the application you're looking for. The technodivers set up is probably your best bet. You could probably even make one of those yourself if it's too pricey (the shop page isn't working right now so I can't see the price). The Tucson shops don't sell anything technical, so don't bother even looking there.

We had a deal that gave us unlimited tanks per day, no extra cost if using an 80al.
Awesome deal....some awesome diving...hoping to do the Windjammer next time we're there.

I believe there was an accident on the WJ and couldn't find anyone doing the dive. Walt Stark at Rec Tek seemed to be the only person open for it. Cost, I believe, was $100 a person.
