Seinfeld

Episode 105 Season 6

"The Jimmy"

If you remember, "The Jimmy" was the guy that constantly referred to himself in the third person... "Ooohhh!!!!! JIMMY'S DOWN. Jimmy might have a compound fracture.. Jimmy's going into shock!!"

I think scubapig52 is Paul... and like Jimmy, he is talking about himself.

I send you my condolences ! you went to the WORST place you could have chosen for your cert they are the most inconsiderate rip off artist in the valley, go to a shop like scuba specialties and ask them what they can do to help you Frankie is great! 43 ave & bell rd,
Paul double billed me before I knew better than to shop there, and I've been advertising their RIP OFF attitrude ever since, (my way of playing by their rules)
almost every other shop in the valley will try to help you

Nobody here is saying that scuba sciences' instructors don't teach a safe & fun class, quite the opposite in fact, not one post on this thread said their class was not fun or safe, they are just arguing that there are other safe and fun classes in the valley, a point which scuba sciences implies is untrue, some employees go out of their way to claim that they are the only safe option in town (even their website says they are the "SAFEST* course in Arizona") and the only shop that will truly make you a "diver", the lakes are unsafe, etc. the holier-than-thou attitude that is perpetuated by them, poor customer relations (by some) and restrictive policies over the years have pissed people off period, and I'm suprised it took so long for this thread to begin. You say, "Be Fair When Making Judement", I say practice what you preach. Did you even read this thread, because it's not about Income. What about Safety, Comfort and Fun, are you too insinuating that no other shop or independant instructors provides these either? Have you taken a class at another shop in town? Have you even been to another shop in town? Some would argue, including me, that people with less than a year of experience and less than 50 dives have no business being a DM/Divecon candidate, that it's UNSAFE. See we can all make an argument as to the safety of any other shop in town, that is not the point of this discussion.

If your happy with them, GREAT, we're, or at least I'm happy for you, after all it's all about diving, but don't come on here and tell people they are wrong or lost focus for sharing their experiences or voicing their opinions based upon their own personal accounts with scuba sciences. Perhaps you had none of the same issues, consider yourself fortunate, but it's not a figment of the imagination.

I'm happy for all the new scuba sciences board members we have, the scuba pig bat signal has obviously been answered, the more the merrier but I just wish there was a valid rebuttal within all the babble.

Where did you get the thing on income? I don't see anyone focusing on income here, except maybe Scuba Sciences. The initial issue of this thread is that Scuba Sciences won't let students of theirs have copies of their training records so they can get certified when it's convenient for them. The issue has naturally evolved to an us v. them. You know what, that's not what diving is all about for me. And I don't think it's what diving is all about for most of the ScubaBoard members. Diving is a community thing. It appears that Scuba Sciences hasn't quite figured that out in its 32 years of business. We get together to dive and have fun and share a common interest that has caused most of us to spend thousands of dollars (or more). Yet, Scuba Sciences is doing its best to keep someone from joining this community because they want their own little community. I've been in Scuba Sciences. I've met Paul. I'm not impressed.

A piece of advice - when he starts passing out the Kool Aid, don't drink it! :eyebrow:

Dive-aholic:
This thread keeps getting better...

BTW, The Jimmy episode was a good one.

Yeah... scandal in the Arizona Forum!

I guess it isn't against the TOS but c'mon... it IS pretty crappy pretending to be someone you're not just to lay down a line of self-serving BS. Hmmm... deceitful, dishonest, disingenuous... or something like that....

No business wants to lose a student to a competitor. After all, that's lost income (immediate AND future). This Is Not Lost Income. Why Was It Said?I Guess I Don'T Get It?Sorry..........................Timmay...............................................

First impressions...

The reality is you usually only get one chance to make a first impression....right or wrong, it is what it is. That impression stays and if you leave a bad one, you may never be able to change it and the customer may walk away forever. If you are having a bad day, busy, sick or pre-occupied with whatever personal issues...no one wants to hear excuses or be treated badly because something slipped through the cracks or you weren't on your game.

So maybe a good focus for Scuba Sciences would be to read these posts and determine what first impressions they left and decide if this is the one they want to leave....or not.

Haven't seen this much discussion on the AZ forum in quite awhile........would rather be diving though.
