I took those prices from their site. What is your source?I believe you are correct. Nitrox is much closer to air in price.
The sea urchins lurking about the sandy bottom at the entry/exit point can be tough to navigate too!My only complaint about shore diving at Blue Angel is with the entry/exit point. The surrounding structures make sort of a funnel, and if there is wave action coming from straight up the funnel the surge in the last 15-20 feet can be substantial. There used to be a ladder out at the dock but it got washed away in a storm; one of the DM's told me that there is a plan to do maintenance on the dock and replace the ladder but he didn't know when it will happen.
Those are not current prices. Add around 30%Maybe not. They came from their site: Precios - Meridiano 87
Also consider that Blue Angel includes Nitrox for FREE.
Most Op's charge an additional $10-$12 PER TANK for Nitrox.
So, if you go to a Dive Op that charges $92.80 (tax included) for multiple days of 2-tank boat dives, and you add Nitrox, the cost goes to $112.80. (I used the pricing from 3P's only because they are transparent with pricing and a great Dive Op that I also use!)
Make their emergency more painful by retaining a deposit? The traveler could have bought travel insurance, the traveler could have lived an ultra conservative lifestyle in the weeks prior to a vacation to minimize the chance of covid - that might help, might not. The business is doing everything they can so that they can provide the service when you arrive, I do not know that the vendor deserves the pain.....
Yes - covid has been going on for two years - last year the policies might have been much more liberal but in year two of this ordeal??? I don't buy it, you know the risk when booking a trip - have a little respect for the vendors that set aside space for you and now get to watch it sit empty. 50% is a pretty stiff amount still IMO but I don't know her costs. The whole idea of deposits and cancellation policies is a really difficult thing for any business.
The PayPal fee, well, I see others charging a higher % to use a credit card.
We belong to a credit union. Zelle won't work. I've tried.
There are alternatives though, such as Remitly, Wise, and a number of fintecs, (Revolut is the one that I use), all of which facilitate transfers at less than 4%.
$4.30 for a nitrox fill and $1.40 for an air fill. By the way, Meridiano charges a lot more for nitrox than the competition. and is cheaper for air. I suspect they are mixing from bottles. $3.00 makes $12.00. Nice add on when you have to handle the tank anyway.
You're right and I don't.I have checking accounts with multiple banks. Nothing says you have to put all your eggs in one basket.
