Have 1/2 npt, are real pain to see and hard to remove media from.... 3/4 is alot nicer....
I have run across 7/8 npt thread (at least that's what I assume it is... between 1" npt and 3/4npt) ... in industrial tanks...
Any information on that...

7/8unf. They’re more similar to 1/2”npt in bore size. Skinny necks
 
No its definitely tapered pipe thread.
Not 7/8 unf.

I thought it was 1 inch npt. Unscrewed the valve, 1" did not fit 3/4" was to small.
Was a Sherwood valve on 4500psi industrial argon tank.

sorry I misread where you said "in industrial tanks", I have seen those before, thought you were referencing the 7/8unf on these bottles
