I'd be up for an early start, I just hate to leave everyone else :)

Drinking late Sat night isn't gonna prevent an early morning for me :/ LOL :/

I'm just going where the crowd goes!

As long as I get home by 8pm, I can live with that. :14:

I have to fly out again on Monday, and I have not been home since Friday as it is. :shakehead:

Jim, renting canoes, driving to Vernon, launching, doing two short 30 min dives, and getting back to Vortex to unload takes 6 hours.

Even if we left at 9AM, you'd have time for your 5 hour drive to get home by 8PM :)

6hrs for 2-30min dives? How long is the trip and SI? We'll have to play it by ear. No sure if we'll have the kid or not.

Its 30-40 min to the boat launch, gotta load, takes about 30 min each way by canoe, (2)30 min dives, and an hour SI usually take about 5.5 hours(6 hours rounded up for safety) :)

Ok, Jim and Frogman, you guys want to grab a Canoe at 7am and head out there? Jim knows the way! :D

or 6AM :D

Weather looks good for this weekend. I think I'll be diving in Marianna Saturday morning and Cypress on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones!

Its a hard sell getting people up early to dive Cypress after Saturday nights festivities. There will be some people who won't be drinking, and that will likely make them more available early.

I hope to start loading canoes by 8:30-9AM, but its never really gone off on time for one of these events.

OK, I'm sold on Cypress for Sunday. Whenever you're ready, I'm good to go. How big are the canoes Vortex rents and what are the means of transporting them to Cypress?
I have 3 divers in my group and possibly 2 wives as bubble watchers.

Arrange to get the canoes Sat night if you want to start before 7AM, as the canoes are locked up and the shop doesn't open till 7AM.

Vortex has 2(maybe 3) very large composite canoes that make awesomely stable dive canoes. You can take 3 divers with single tanks in each at most. They also have several kayaks and some uber heavy fiberglass canoes. The kayaks would probably be ideal for bubble watchers. I've never dived out the fiberglass canoes, but I wouldn't count on them on holding more than two divers.

Gotta carry the canoes by our own vehicles. I can take one on my car. Vortex used to offer transportation for canoes(and pickup) at the SR79 boat launch, but it makes the trip much much longer and the cost was $100 a canoe IIRC. Not sure if that service is still offered, or if the price will be the same.

We might have a bit of a transportation issue if we have alot of people interested in Cypress.

How many people are wanting to goto Cypress? How many have a vehicle that can carry a canoe(as in a rack up top, truck bed, ect)?

Me - can carry one canoe
Frank + 1
irishsquid + 2 divers + 2 bubblewatchers
Parysa
cmufieldhockey
Lone Frog
jimdiverman
willardj + 2 bubblewatchers?

The Kraken? - are you bringing a canoe? You mentioned it earlier?
